Village Achieves Accreditation For Another Three Years
Condobolin District Retirement Village and the community we serve are set to benefit from the achievement of Accreditation for a further 3 years. This is a magnificent result for us and is testimony to the hard work and dedication of our staff leading to quality care for residents now and in the future.

There are 144,000 people living in Australia's 2,956 Retirement Villages receiving $4.2 billion in subsidies from the Commonwealth Government. CDRV must comply with Accreditation Standards and commit to continuously improving standards of care and service to continue receiving our share of this subsidy. The Accreditation Standards are made up of four Principles and 44 Expected Outcomes. We are meeting or exceeding benchmarks in all these areas. Principles of Accreditation include:
- Management systems are responsive to the needs of residents
- Physical and mental health is promoted and achieved at the optimum level
- Residents retain their personal civic, legal and consumer rights and are assisted to achieve active control of their own lives and
- Residents live in a safe and comfortable environment that ensures their quality of life.

Fun Day at Village - Fancy Dress & Talent Competition
On Tuesday 2nd September the Nursing Home held a fun day with a fancy dress and talent competition. All residents and staff were in dress up for the fancy dress. We had everything from sportspersons to clowns, flowers, ballerina, Mexicans, doctors even the Queen and many more. All residents received a certificate. After the fancy dress the talent competition was held which brought many a laugh. Grand winner was the poet Stafford Hitchick. Other winners were singer Marion Bailey and ballerina Jack McManus. A BBQ lunch was held afterwards and everyone had a great day. Thank you to all the visitors for coming and making this day a great success.
GARDEN PARTY IN SUPPORT OF THE CONDOBOLIN RETIREMENT VILLAGE
"A garden should be restful, first, then stimulating (in achievement of results) and finally soothing." P J Hurley (Waratah) 1946.
We saw all of that when we visited the magnificent garden that has been created by Therese and Cedric Pietsch when they very generously opened it to the public for the support of the Condobolin Retirement Village. We thank them sincerely. Over 250 people took advantage of the fine day to view this garden.
Of great interest was the display of shoes from over the years; its amazing how some of them are back in fashion now and we thank "Fancy Feet" for the effort in arranging the display.
A special word of thanks must go to the Good Time Girls who did a fantastic job of providing afternoon tea for the crowd and the voluntary work these lasses do is much appreciated - so thank you Good Time Girls.
The Garden Club also lent a hand with their stall, trading plants, cakes and veggies and a very nice raffle; and once again the Worthington Girls supported the Village with their raffle. Every effort helps in the long run. The Village ran a raffle of a Mountain Bike and other prizes and this raffle was drawn at the Rotary Christmas Party.
We would like to thank everyone who shared the day with us by working hard or simply by being there. The monies raised on these occasions go to provide extras for our residents at the Village, some small luxury or a large item, whatever the need may be. It is a worthy cause.
